Leon Best and Peter Lovenkrands will have different thoughts ... but Shola Ameobi is convinced he and Demba Ba can form a lethal partnership. With Ba being the new kid on the block, the other three strikers are all trying to edge ahead of each other in a bid to win favour with Alan Pardew. But with Pardew insisting he is set to sign two new strikers, perhaps all three will be in the shop window very soon. Shola Ameobi: "It is the first time we have really played together. "It is interesting. He is a great player and clever mover - somebody great to work with for me, personally. "I have had partnerships with bigger guys before and it has worked well. Demba, though, is very good on the ball as well. "He knows exactly what to do and works hard. I feel we can gel if we can get the chance to do it."
