Is There More To Cabaye's 'Technicality'?

19 July 2011 09:47
There was no place for summer signing Yohan Cabaye on the plane to Kansas, because he was not granted a visa to enter the USA because of a technicality. All we can get from Newcastle United is: "It was a problem with paperwork and is sorted now." The have been very reluctant to go into details, and refused to talk to the media about it. Either they don't want to point the finger at who 'allegedly' cocked up the paperwork ... or there is more to it. Why didn't Newcastle put him on the next flight out there ... rather than send him to play with the reserves. Cabaye is expected to join the second string on their tour of Holland. Alan Pardew: “Yohan will add something to us – he’ll add a pass and an intelligence to our game, for sure. "The players have seen that all three are good players. “It’s no good doing it just on the training ground. "Your top players like Fabricio Coloccini and Joey Barton know fine well it is about the Premier League and you want to see these players performing in the Premier League at their very best – hopefully we see that from Yohan and the new boys this year. “You want to see what they’re going to do for us, and only time will tell. But at the moment they’re showing very well.” Newcastle’s United States tour: Newcastle to London 249 miles London to Chicago 3,963 miles Chicago to Kansas 471 miles Kansas to Chicago 471 miles Chicago to Orlando 983 miles Orlando to Miami 204 miles Miami to Columbus 991 miles Columbus to Chicago 276 miles Chicago to London 3,963 miles London to Newcastle 249 miles Total air miles: 11,820 Approximate time in the air: 25 hours
