Is It Time To Let Ba Go?

03 December 2012 12:32
Demba Ba is available for a cut-price £7.5m fee in January because of a release clause in his contract, but some reports today suggest "nobody can afford him".

Well I beg to differ on that score.

Turkish side Galatasaray have been told Ba is looking for a wage of around £90,000-a-week, and they claim they will pay it.

And don't rule out the 27-year-old being tempted by an offer from Liverpool – which is sure to come.

He won’t come cheap, given the wages and agents fees involved in any deal, but the Reds are desperate for a new striker and they have already been paving the way for an offer.

But Ba is currently involved in long-running talks over a new deal at United, having snubbed Mike Ashley's offer of £50,000-a-week.

Does Ashley smash United's wage cap for the benefit of one player ... or does he let him go?

Today the Senegal international – who has scored eight Premier League goals this season – is understood to be “upset” at suggestions he has turned down a new contract at Newcastle.

Which is all well and good - because he DID turn down the £50,000-a-week offer.
