Investment talks for Bluebirds

Malaysian businessman Dato Chan Tien Ghee is set to attend Cardiff's home clash against Newcastle next Sunday as talks regarding possible investment and sponsorship continue. Peter Ridsdale is again in the Far East for discussions with Dato Chan and the Bluebirds chairman has invited his counterpart to the club's new state-of-the-art Cardiff City Stadium when the high-flying Magpies come to town. The property magnate has taken up the offer and will experience a game in the stadium for the first time having seen Cardiff take on Nottingham Forest at Ninian Park last season. "We have invited him to Cardiff City Stadium for the Newcastle United game and the plans are in place," Ridsdale told the Western Mail before flying out for three full days of talks in Malaysia. "We think this interest is a massive coup for this football club and we know they have talked to other football clubs in the past about such an alliance and investment. Any deal will almost certainly include sponsorship and we are already talking about shirt sponsorship, stadium naming rights and an investment. "These things do not happen overnight. It's a case of them trusting us and getting to know what we are all about. We are now putting the building blocks in place to form an established football club."
