[LNB]Fraser Forster has vowed to show no mercy to Lukasz Zaluska in his quest to go from Newcastle's third-choice keeper to Celtic No 1.[LNB]The towering 22-year-old signed a season-long loan deal at Parkhead yesterday and will travel to Utrecht for tomorrow night's Europa League play-off second leg.[LNB]Ineligible to play against the Dutch side, Forster intends to familiarise himself with his new team-mates and catch the eye of new manager Neil Lennon in training.[LNB] A glovely move: Goalkeeper Fraser Forster will hope to have a big hand in this season's SPL title race[LNB]After dislodging the first-choice keepers in loan spells at Bristol Rovers and Paul Lambert's Norwich, last season's Canaries Player of the Year now has his sights set firmly on Zaluska's jersey.[LNB]Highly rated by Lambert and Parkhead coach Alan Thompson, his former Magpies youth mentor, Forster insists his mission is just business and nothing personal.[LNB]He said: 'Lukasz has the shirt but I have to get that off him and prove to the gaffer I'm worthy of a start. The only way I can do that is by performing well on the training pitch.[LNB]'I will go to Utrecht, train with the lads at the stadium and watch the game.[LNB]'It's a good way to get to know the lads. It's always strange when you turn up at a new club, especially as a keeper.[LNB]On loan: Fraser Forster has signed a long-term deal at Newcastle [LNB]'There is always someone already in that position. I had it at Bristol Rovers and the goalie Steve Phillips was the captain. There is someone whose place you are trying to take. But it's all about being ruthless.[LNB]'The gaffer had to select someone at Bristol and, luckily, he picked me.[LNB]'Someone is always trying to take your place, but it makes you a better player. It means you have to work harder.[LNB]'People move around, it's one of those things in football.[LNB]'There was no problem at Bristol. Steve was very professional about it.'[LNB]Zaluska has already welcomed the challenge of a new rival, following Artur Boruc's departure for Fiorentina. [LNB]Ironically, the Pole has racked up three successive clean sheets at Celtic after some shaky displays this summer. [LNB]Sportsmail understands Celtic will still pursue a permanent deal for Coventry goalie, Keiren Westwood, with the Irish international entering the final year of his contract.[LNB]Forster signed a long-term deal at Newcastle last year, but insists his focus is firmly on Celtic this season. [LNB]'I spoke to Neil Lennon briefly before I came up here,' he said. 'It is just about providing competition. [LNB]'Me and the other keepers will push each other and it will hopefully benefit everyone.[LNB]'I am still relatively young in goalkeeping terms. It is just about racking up experience and playing games.'[LNB]Burnley winger Chris Eagles, meanwhile, is set to sign a new contract at the relegated Championship side despite reported interest from Celtic.[LNB]The wide man has already rejected a move to Rangers after being forced to take a pay cut at Turf Moor this summer, but sources played down talk of a Parkhead move yesterday.[LNB]With Newcastle also interested, Burnley manager Brian Laws hopes to tie up the 24-year-old winger on an improved deal.[LNB]He told Sportsmail: 'As far as we are concerned, Chris is still a Burnley player. No one has made an official approach, so I don't know where the Celtic thing is coming from.[LNB]'There has been talk of Chris signing a new deal here, but we are not in a position to discuss the situation concerning our players where that's concerned.'[LNB]
