If Taylor Loves The Toon Why Doesn't He Drop His Agent?
Steven Taylor says he is eager to seize his chance and establish himself back in the first team, but he still refuses to sign a new contract. Taylor has the same agent as Wayne Rooney, and we all know what Sir Alex Ferguson thinks about him! Sir Alex Ferguson: "Rooney's agent is not a popular man around Old Trafford. "We could have sorted out Wayne's contract without all this mess. "You only have to ask the fans what they think about it". And I think you only have to ask the Newcastle fans what THEY think of Taylor's lack of effort to sign a new deal. He says he wants to stay, but his agent has been trying for seven month to get him a transfer away from the club. Rooney received a mixed reception from Man Utd fans at the weekend when he returned to action, and Taylor (once a very popular player on Tyneside) has Toon fans devided. Taylor is set to make his first start in over 10 months for the Magpies after a shoulder problem in pre-season followed the knee injury he sustained in January. Taylor: "I'm available for selection. I'm fit, and I've bided my time for the past few games. Now I'm hoping to get my chance, he told reporters. "All you can do it wait for your chance and wait for the gaffer to pick you and if I do get my chance I'll look forward to it. I want to do my best for this club. "We've got fantastic defenders at the club and that's been proved with Fabricio and Mike doing well this season. "Playing with Sol would be fantastic. We played in the reserves against Man City last week and I had a good partnership with him in a 1-0 win, so it would be good if we get the opportunity."
