Humble Krul 'I Am Still Learning From My Teachers'

Tim Krul still does not regard himself as Newcastle United's No.1 and says he is still learning from Steve Harper and Edwin van der Sar.  Tim Krul: “I am in possession of the jersey at the moment.

“The manager told me at the start of the season, ‘you have to show me every week you have earned the shirt.’ That is what I have been trying to do.

“It is a long season, though, and I do not feel as though I am No.1 yet. I am very focused and taking every game at a time.

“I have had to wait my time, but I feel this is the right time for me now.

"I am ready. The manager says if you do your job well you stay in the team.

"Look at Ryan Taylor, he has done a fantastic job at left-back and the manager said he has no reason to substitute him.

"I like that about the manager.

"Harps knows how it works. He has been there and done it and from the moment I came to this club he has been a teacher for me.

“He is still there for me and gives me tips all the time. That will never change.

“Rob is another who keeps me on my toes, knowing there is another good goalkeeper behind me.

“If I need to know something from Edwin van der Sar I can always give him a call.”
