Hughton Wants Leon Best

Having failed in a bid to take Nile Ranger to St Andrews, Chris Hughton is set to try and coax Leon Best to the Midlands. Best was told at the start of the transfer window that Newcastle would listen to offers for the ex-Coventry City striker. But, to date, there have been no offers, although several Championship clubs are said to be interested. The problem is the £4m asking price, and Alan Pardew knows Mike Ashley is living in Dreamland if he thinks he can get anywhere near that amount of money. But Hughton is hopeful he can get the striker on loan, by promising him first team football.
