Hughton up for award
Newcastle caretaker boss Chris Hughton has been short-listed for the Coca-Cola Championship manager of the month award for August.
Hughton has steered the Magpies to the top of the table thanks to a four-game winning streak which followed an opening-day draw at West Brom for a haul of 13 points out of 15.
Also nominated for the gong are Roberto Di Matteo (West Brom), Alan Irvine (Preston) and Kevin Blackwell (Sheffield United).
