Hughton takes monthly prize
Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton has been named Manager of the Month for August.
Hughton is still only in caretaker charge at St James Park, but he has guided Newcastle to an unbeaten start to their Championship campaign.
Newcastle opened the campaign with a draw at West Bromwich Albion, but since then they have not put a foot wrong.
Wins over Reading, Sheffield Wednesday, Crystal Palace and Leicester City have followed, and Hughton and his charges now sit two points clear at the top of the table.
The Player of the Month award in the Championship is also Newcastle-bound, after their leading scorer Shola Ameobi won the vote.
