Hughton Silenced The Doubters? I Don't Agree!

The Shields Gazette has the bold headlines this morning: "Hughton Has Silenced The Geordie Doubters". Perhaps, but personally I think the 'doubters' had a point to make and Hughton finally listened! Gazette writer Miles Starforth: "At the helm a manager, Chris Hughton, under as much pressure as their own, the unloved Avram Grant. "However, the Magpies demonstrated on Saturday why Hughton remains the right man to take the club forward amid rumour and conjecture about his future at St James's Park. "The fact that Hughton's position was – and possibly still is – under threat is baffling, as the problem isn't his management, but the resources available to him." The Toon fans understand "the resources available" but they have questioned Hughton's tactics since the first game of the season. They have called for a 4-4-2 formation to help Andy Carroll have some chance of battering defences rather than seeing him go it alone, and for James Perch to be axed. On Saturday Hughton did just that! And guess what.
