Hughton on striker search

Caretaker Newcastle boss Chris Hughton will continue to target an experienced striker as he looks to maintain the club's push for promotion.[LNB]The Magpies on Friday clinched a three-month loan deal for Georgia international defender Zurab Khizanishvili, and have now turned their attention to landing a frontman with leading scorer Shola Ameobi facing two months on the sidelines with a stress injury to his foot.[LNB]Aston Villa's Marlon Harewood and Diomansy Kamara, who scored for Fulham in their Europa League draw in Sofia last night, remain in their sights, although they are not alone, and Hughton is hoping for a breakthrough ahead of next weekends's Coca-Cola Championship trip to Ipswich.[LNB]He said: "We have been fortunate. At this moment, we have Shola Ameobi injured and Jonas Gutierrez injured - apart from that, we have a full complement of players.[LNB]"The priority has been centre-half and centre-forward, and then we will just continue to assess it.[LNB]"Harewood and Kamara are players we have spoken about or made enquires for. But they are among a few players we have made enquiries about. At this moment, not for Saturday, but we are hopeful certainly by next weekend we will have someone in."
