Hughton Laughs Off Latest Transfer Rumours
Chris Hughton laughed off Newcastle United's "interest" in Shaun Wright-Phillips. He claims Toon fans are not likely to see any transfer activity at St James’ Park until the beginning of July at the earliest. Chris Hughton: “As far as Shaun Wright-Phillips is concerned, he’s not one that will be coming here. “Shaun is in contract negotiations at the moment, and it is normal for him to be linked with other clubs. “It’s not something that bothers me because you can’t do anything about it. “We’re going through a period of being linked with names. I would say 99% of the names we’re linked with we haven’t even considered, but that’s what generally happens in pre-season. “We will identify the players we need and move for them accordingly.”
