Hughton in dark over sales

Newcastle interim manager Chris Hughton fears he could lose more key players before the Championship season kicks off this weekend. The Magpies sold Obafemi Martins to Wolfsburg last week for an estimated £9million and many more of Hughton's squad are being linked with moves away from St James' Park. Manchester City and Tottenham are reportedly fighting over Sebastian Bassong while Habib Beye and Nicky Butt could also move on in the coming days. Hughton, who admitted he did not know Martins had gone until it was a done deal, fears he could lose more players between now and their weekend clash at West Brom. Blow"It's always a blow to lose what you regard as a good player and I know don't if I'll lose any more before West Brom," explained Hughton. "It's a shame to lose a talented player like Oba. "I'm working on a day-to-day basis and don't know if more will go."
