Hughton Forgives And Forgets!

Newcastle loaned Ben Tozer to Northampton Town - he gets sent off - and the Cobblers sent him back to the Toon. Then (after the 3-match ban) they wanted him back! Personally I'd have stuck two fingers up at them ... but Chris Hughton has more brain cells than I have! And the player says he is delighted to be back at Sixfields. The central defender was red carded for a moment of petulance after throwing the ball in frustration during the 4-3 defeat at home to Hereford United, and was subsequently sent back to Newcastle United while serving his three-match ban. But Cobblers boss Ian Sampson wanted the 20-year-old back to Sixfields and put Tozer straight into the side for the 2-0 victory at Lincoln City on Tuesday. Ben Tozer: “I lost my head at the time and I shouldn’t have. “What was going on was that I was infuriated because I didn’t feel that I had fouled their player. “I know it was quite a childish thing to throw the ball, but at the time my head was gone. I need to learn not do that, but it’s great to be back. “Apparently when I was away for the last few weeks, things weren’t great because of the Hereford game, but when I came back the lads had a spring in their step because of Saturday. “I came in on Monday and it felt like when I was here before because of the Liverpool game, with us playing well, and it was a good feeling.”
