Hughton Defends Under-Fire Barton
Chris Hughton refuted the claim by Stoke City that an "unknown Newcastle player" took a dive and tried to get a Stoke player booked. That player was Joey Barton. Chris Hughton: "I would be very, very surprised if that is true. "We were up against a hard-running, very physical side in Stoke who certainly put themselves about. "But I certainly didn't see any play-acting from any of our players. "I would be very, very surprised at that, very surprised."
