Hughton: 'Crowd Appreciation Was For Team - Not Me'

I think Chris Hughton was kidding himself when he played down the support he received from the fans after the Tyne-Wear derby - saying the chanting was for the team - not him. Chris Hughton: "It's always something that's nice (to have the fans sing your name), but it's not the most important thing for me. "They are showing their appreciation for a team that has gone out and put in the performance they have. "The crowd will always react to what they see on the football pitch and today, I think they very much liked what they saw on the football pitch."
