Let's be honest, the Sunderland match was NOT Howard Webb's finest performance.
Newcastle had a goal chalked off for off-side - when it wasn't - and Sunderland's third was clearly off-side.
Webb, of course, will say that if you are not sure then you can’t give decisions, but he was well off the mark. The game was certainly not an easy one to officiate and it never is; but if Webb is the best referee in the country ... GOD HELP THE REST.
