How Serious An Issue Are Laser Pens?
Anyone who watched the England game on TV yesterday will have seen the Taff supporter shining a laser pen in the eyes of England players. England boss Fabio Capello has called on football's authorities to track down the fans that do this sort of thing. England won 2-0 in Wales at the Millennium Stadium, and it's the sort of thing you would expect from the Welsh ... but what if it spread to the England game? Capello noticed it as he was replacing Scott Parker with Phil Jagielka in the last minutes of the action and he feels something has to be done. Fabio Capello: "It was a silly thing. "When we changed Scott Parker I saw it but not before. "It is not good. You need to find these people who are coming to the game with a laser. It is not sporting." The Football Association have confirmed they will not be making a formal complaint over the matter.
