The 20-year-old appeared at Newcastle magistrates court last Thursday and pleaded not guilty to assault and drunk and disorderly behaviour charges.
He was remanded on conditional bail and will re-appear in court on 13 January.
The loan deal was completed on Saturday and Ranger watched the 2-0 victory over Doncaster from the stands.
He will stay at Oakwell until 14 January.

"As long as they're willing to accept the wrongs that they've done, as long as they're trying to right those wrongs, then I'll work with anyone.
"I think it's an encouraging signing and it's one I'm sure will work for us.
