He Wasn't Given A Chance At Newcastle

Kazenga Lualua didn't make the Brighton fixture on Saturday, but he is still in the FA Cup after Newcastle's shock defeat.

The former Toon winger has revealed that he “tried everything” at Newcastle – without getting a sustained run in the first team at St James’ Park.

The Toon Academy product joined Brighton earlier this season after failing to establish himself at United.

LuaLua: “I had been there for many years without getting really close to the first-team.

“I used to train with the first team, but not every day – I trained with the reserves as well.

“It was time for me to make a decision about what I want to do with my career and joining Brighton was an easy decision.

“I felt I deserved more chances (at Newcastle) but every manager has their own options.

“I tried everything at Newcastle but it didn’t work.

“I am happy to be here now – things are looking good for the club at the moment.

“For me, Brighton will be in the Premier League, but you never know when it can happen.”
