HATCHET MAN: Toon turmoil is justice for Newcastle's naughty Nolan

Newcastle, for the umpteenth time this season, got what they deserved at the weekend. The celebrations after their win against Middlesbrough must have had everybody in the city believing they were safe from relegation. Manager Alan Shearer may have tried to calm things down before they faced Fulham but he had cranked things up so much that he had little chance of success. If the Middlesbrough match was the biggest of his career, playing Fulham must have been a comedown for everybody. Not least Kevin Nolan, whose questionable block helped Newcastle score an unfair goal against Middlesbrough and have them cheated out of one in the defeat to Fulham. It was pure stupidity for him to be standing in front of the goalkeeper at a corner after his previous penalty area antics were exposed and poetic justice was served.
