HATCHET MAN: There's nothing like loyal players - and Bassong and Jones are nothing like them

Loyalty at Newcastle and Sunderland doesn't even stretch to the last day of the  season these days. Supporters don't demand their players bleed the colours of their stripsany  more, but they should be able to expect them to refrain from scrambling for the lifeboats when their ship can still be saved. Newcastle's Sebastien Bassong and Sunderland's Kenwyne Jones see it differently. They have made it clear they expect to be off if things goagainst  their teams on Sunday and they go down. There is no shock there - about half of both club's squads will bethinking the  same - but saying it before the relegation picture isclear is premature and  makes them look like they don't care as long asthey are OK.
