Alan Shearer was being hailed as a managerial genius today after twoof his  substitutions against Middlesbrough paid handsome dividends. But he is not the first boss to throw on a couple more forwards and hope for  the best. Congratulations to Newcastle for getting out of the bottom three, but let's  not get carried away. When you change formations and strike force personnel as often as hehas (six  matches, six different starting combinations up front),something is bound to come off eventually.
