Mike Ashley should convince Alan Shearer to stay as Newcastle manager as quickly as possible.
The owner might as well gamble a few more quid to keep him after allthe money he has thrown away because otherwise their problems will onlyget worse.
After all, what proven, established, successful manager would take onthe job of clearing up the mess at St James' Park if Shearer walks away?
Their former striker has not even started to prove he can manage yet,not by a long way.
But the club's impossibly ambitious fans are behind him and that seems to be half the battle.
Newcastle are in terrible trouble and need to tear things up and start again. It will take time and money and the Match of the Day pundit candeliver the former if Ashley provides the latter.
