HATCHET MAN: Shearer for West Brom? As likely as George Graham returning to White Hart Lane

Shearer may be losing his patience with Newcastle but deserting them to take charge at The Hawthorns is about as likely as Michael Owen staying at St James' Park and playing for free next season. Shearer gave up the TV studio to try to save 'his club'. He did a pretty poor job of it in the time he was given, but still wants to stick around and take them back up to the Premier League. He can give them credibility among the fans at the very least but owner Mike Ashley, who seems to have an aversion to sensible decisions in football, is keeping him waiting and it is easy to see the former Newcastle No 9 is losing patience. However, that does not mean a symbol for Newcastle is suddenly going to join another club in the Championship who also don't want to spend much money and for whom he has no passion.
