Harper hopes to out-gun United

Steve Harper believes Newcastle must come out 'all guns blazing' against Manchester United on Wednesday. The Magpies play to host to the Red Devils in midweek with both sides desperate for the points. Chris Hughton's troops are still battling to beat the drop, while Sir Alex Ferguson's men have a third consecutive Premier League title in their sights. With a 1-0 defeat to Bolton leaving Newcastle just two points above the relegation zone, Harper knows the North East outfit can ill-afford another setback when the reigning champions roll into town. He said: "You just want to get back out there quickly after a defeat. It is a massive game and we have to put this disappointment behind us. "We should have the best part of a full house and the supporters will be looking for us to give 100 per cent commitment. "It is important all the lads are on their game because they will have to be. We have to go out there all guns blazing and take on the champions." Caretaker boss Hughton, who continues to deputise at St James' Park in Joe Kinnear's absence, is also all too aware of the need to avoid another demoralising defeat. "We have always known where we are. We are in a relegation scrap with 10 to 12 other teams," he said. "A series of wins or non-losses can take you away from that as other teams have shown. So we are under no illusions about our position."
