Harper Has Waited For His Chance
Steve Harper says Newcastle are in safe hands with Tim Krul and Fraser Forster ready to challenge for his place. Steve Harper: “Fraser (Forster) and Tim (Krul) are very similar to me and Shay, only at an earlier stage. “There could be a battle on there for years to come at this club, and if it pushes them on to great things, then so be it. “I’ve waited a long time for this opportunity, so I’m going to work my socks off to make the most of it. “There are two very good young goalkeepers right behind me keeping me on my toes. “There are a lot of things I’m working hard on with Paul Barron, and the two young lads, Tim and Fraser, who are improving every day. “They’re really improving, and have a big chance for the future.”
