Many fans were surprised to see Jonas Gutierrez missing from the squad on Saturday, after Chris Hughton had originally named him in the team. Gutierrez travelled to Swansea but was left out of the matchday squad as a precaution after a muscle injury. But Hughton says the Argentine winger is expected to be fit in time for the visit of Coventry to St James’ Park on Wednesday. However, Shola Ameobi is certainly out after injuring a hamstring in training.
