Guthrie eyes bright future

Newcastle midfielder Danny Guthrie ended another eventful week in the club's tumultuous recent history in optimistic mood. A day after owner Mike Ashley was ordered to pay former boss Kevin Keegan £2million in damages for his constructive dismissal, Guthrie and his team-mates were held to a 0-0 draw at St James' Park on Saturday. "Going into the international break, we have a three-point gap. It's a nice feeling, but it could have been five if we had just nicked a goal," said Guthrie. "We have had a couple of draws at home, which is disappointing. We played well on Saturday - we didn't play so well against QPR. "We are always expected to win, but we are not going to win every game. "But the most important thing is we didn't lose and we kept the gap."
