Gosling Wants Longer Stay At Blackpool

Toon loanie Dan Gosling is more than happy to extend his loan spell at Blackpool until the end of the season.

Dan Gosling: “Of course I’d be interested in staying for the rest of the season.

“If the club want me here and Newcastle agree, then I’ll sit down and talk. I just want to keep performing well and keep us high in the table.

“It’s a nice feeling to walk out and get 90 minutes football every week. I just have to make sure I can keep my position in the team.

“I feel I’m getting better each week, though Saturday’s result against Ipswich was disappointing. I don’t think we deserved to win, though.

“It’s the first time since I’ve been here that we haven’t played well, and in this league you have to be at it every week.If you aren’t you get punished, and that’s exactly what happened at the weekend.

"I'm looking forward to the return of Barry Ferguson,I haven’t played with Fergie before but the lads say he’s a top player.

“He’s a great pro and a leader on the pitch, so I’m looking forward to playing alongside him. There are a few lads injured, so I think the international break has come at a good time for us.

“In the next couple of weeks we will have a few lads coming back, so we’ll have a big squad.

“It’s disappointing that we didn’t hold on for the win against Blackburn or for the point last weekend. But we’ve made a good start and hopefully we can maintain it.”
