Frustration Grows With Graham Carr!

The Marseille forward Andre-Pierre Gignac was linked with a £12m move to Newcastle yesterday, but (according to the Chronicle) he is not a target.

The 6ft 1in French international is described as a British-style forward, but he is not a player on the Magpies’ radar.

United have also been linked with Vitesse forward Wilfried Bony, but are understood to have dropped their interest in the Ivorian, who could be on his way to Swansea City.

Chief scout Graham Carr and new director of football Joe Kinnear have had a number of meetings this week aimed at progressing Newcastle’s transfer dealings.

And while Carr has spent two years looking at the foreign market for Alan Pardew and made a list of foreign talent, Kinnear wants to look closer to home this summer.

'Old School' Kinnear believes United have lost some identity by bringing in players who don't seem to settle in this country.

Yohan "Kebab" is one of the French connection who is looking to return home.
