Kinnear was announced as director of football on Tuesday – despite his absurd radio rant in which he claimed he has ‘more intelligence’ than the supporters.
Freddy Shepherd: "For Joe Kinnear to come out and say thing things he has just said there.
"I can't believe it. It is just unbelievable.
"I certainly wouldn't let him into Newcastle because I would have got rid of him before he got there because it is ridiculous what he has been saying, it really is.
"Reading between the lines there is something that is not right.
"Everybody knows that in the business. There is something that isn’t right here.
"Pardew's position could become untenable when Kinnear comes in above the manager.
"If it is true, there is only one man who can make this marriage work and that is Pardew.
"I think he will be manager at start of the season but I am not sure he will be at the end. If it doesn't work, Pardew will be off."
