Former Newcastle and Rangers star Craig Moore freed on bail after arrest on drink charge in Dubai

Former Newcastle United and Rangers defender Craig Moore faces a court hearing in Dubai after being arrested on a drinking-related charge.[LNB]Moore, 34, who retired after the World Cup in South Africa, was arrested after an alleged drunken altercation with police in the Gulf emirate. He was released on bail on Friday and is awaiting trial. [LNB]A spokesman from Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said: 'Consular officials from the Australian Embassy in Abu Dhabi are continuing to provide consular assistance to the man and his family in Australia, and are in contact with his lawyer.' [LNB] Bailed: Craig Moore has been hit with a drink-related charge in Dubai[LNB]'A date for the court hearing has not yet been scheduled.'[LNB]Moore's wife Heather said she had been unable to contact her husband and was unable to travel to Dubai.[LNB]'I can't go over there. I've got two kids here and my job. I'll just sit tight and see what happens," she told Brisbane's The Courier Mail.[LNB]'I'm trying to keep things as normal as possible, but I've got a 12-year-old son (Dylan) who's not silly and is asking questions,' she said.[LNB]And former West Ham and Blackburn Rovers and international team mate Robbie Slater also expressed his worries. [LNB]'I'm very concerned about him. They don't muck around over there.[LNB]'I can picture him, he's a fiery character. But he's very experienced too. He's an experienced pro.[LNB]'The only thing I hope is the fact he's an international sportsman counts in his favour.'
