The position has a number of Newcastle connections after Brian Clough hung up his whip.
Frank Clark (and we all na his dad) - our right-back in the Fairs Cup triumph - replaced Clough; and of course Joe Kinnear got the boot at the City Ground before joining us.
Davies, who previously managed Forest between 2008 and 2011, was installed as favourite to take over at the City Ground following the departure of Alex McLeish earlier this week.
