Five French Players To Leave Newcastle?

Sylvain Marveaux is on the radar of a clutch of clubs from Russia and Ligue 1 after dropping down the pecking order at Newcastle United. But he is just one of FIVE French-speaking stars looking to leave.

Marveaux missed the Manchester City Capital One Cup tie with an injury and has not been involved since the defeat of Leeds back at the end of September.

The midfielder has played just five times this year and now appears to be looking to France in the hope of returning home.

He was hit with home-sickness right from the start of his contract at Newcastle and took months to settle and push for a first team place. And even now he is miles away from becoming a regular in the first team.

Gabriel Obertan talked last week of looking for a loan move in January, as he also feels he is down the pecking order.United will be even less enamoured with reports from Italy that suggest Rudi Garcia is interested in taking Yohan Cabaye to AS Roma.

The France midfielder’s form has improved since a summer of discontent ended with the player effectively taking strike action, but that is unlikely to stop speculation linking him with a move away from St James’ Park.Remy refuses to talk about signing for the club, because he obviously has bigger fish to fry.

And Papiss Cisse is far from happy with his form AND the stick he has taken from Alan Pardew following some less than impressive performances in recent weeks.

Rumour has it the French-speaking striker is expecting one (or two) strikers arriving in January and he knows any decent offer in January would see him leave.
