'Five Bob' Rodgers Nowhere Near Liverpool Quality!

24 July 2012 12:42
Andy Carroll's Liverpool future will be decided by manager Brendan Rodgers ... but come on ... what the hell is he doing at Anfield?

The new Scouse boss dropped a bombshell by saying "Andy Carroll can go out on loan".

Now what does that do to the confidence of a player who did well in Euro 2012, and was hoping to light up Anfield this coming campaign?

OK - Rodgers doesn't want him - Carroll is up for grabs.

Then the new boss changes his mind and says "Carroll will NOT be going out on loan", suggesting there could be a future for the Geordie boy ... only to do a second "U-Turn" and say Newcastle can have him if they up their £12m offer.

Is Rodgers Liverpool quality? Well I'll leave that for the Scousers to comment.

If I was from the home of the Liver bird ... I'd ask what the hell was going on!

Liverpool chairman Tom Werner says Rodgers will consider offers around £20million but he knows nobody will go anywhere near the price.

Leaving a player not knowing what the future holds.

No doubt some will turn on him, saying he will see out his contract on £65,000 a week ... calling him a greedy bastard.

But Carroll - deep down - will want to get the hell out of the place, and return to Geordieland.

He has now flown out to join the rest of the squad on pre-season tour in the US with his five England colleagues, who were given a week’s extra rest after Euro 2012.

Werner: 'Brendan is clearly the leader here.

'The only thing I can say is we will do what is best for the club.

'At the moment Andy is on the squad, he is an important member of the England team and he has a lot of talent. We will see what happens.'
