Ferdinand Apologised To Carver

It has emerged that Rio Ferdinand actually apologised to Newcastle United coaches after the game at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson yesterday accused United and their coaching staff for constantly “haranguing referees” in an astounding blast at what he termed a “a wee club in the North East”.

But the only cause for complaint from the Toon contingent was over the tackle which caused Vurnon Anita to be carried off.

Ferdinand clashed with John Carver after the Toon coach went on the pitch to applaud the travelling support, and then spoke to referee Mike Dean.

But the Chronicle claims the former England international actually apologised to Carver when he realised he was only complaining about Antonio Valencia’s X-rated late challenge on Anita.
