Famous Scouse humour will lift gloom at Newcastle insists new signing Ryan Taylor

Taylor, 24, has followed in the footsteps of fellow Liverpudlians, Joey Barton and Kevin Nolan, by joining the troubled Tyneside club and he is confident that together the trio can raise spirits in the Newcastle dressing room. [LNB]'There are quite a few Scousers here now which will mean that the place won't be very quiet,' Taylor said following his move from Wigan. [LNB]'But then again even Joey Barton on his own would mean that it wouldn't be quiet. But me and Kevin should mean that the Scouse personality and the Scouse sense of humour will help get the place going again and it will be quite loud. [LNB]'I grew up not far from Joey, about five minutes away, but he is a bit older than me. I know him from playing against him and seeing him out and about every now and again. I always chatted to him when I saw him. We got on and I'm sure we will get on even better when I see him on a regular basis.'[LNB]Taylor is also hoping to realise a schoolboy dream by teaming up with Newcastle captain Michael Owen, having idolised him during his Liverpool days. [LNB]'Michael was a massive hero of mine and to get a chance to play alongside him is fantastic,' the former Tranmere player added. [LNB]'It was the same with Emile Heskey at Wigan. I used to sit on the Kop and watch them in action together for Liverpool. To play with the players I grew up loving as a kid – especially Michael who is a national hero as well – will be great. [LNB]'I used to go and watch Liverpool all the time. I still go now to Champions League games. Once you're a fan of one club you stay that way. When you play them you change your allegiance and want the club you play for to do well and you do everything to make that happen. That was the case at Wigan.'[LNB]
