Fabricio Coloccini 'surprised' at being given Newcastle captaincy

Fabricio Coloccini has admitted he was as surprised as anyone to be made Newcastle's new captain and will need to take more English lessons to be a good leader.[LNB]Boss Alan Pardew handed the armband to the Argentina defender after the departure of former skipper Kevin Nolan to Championship side West Ham last month.[LNB] The move was a controversial one, with the likes of Toon player of the year Joey Barton overlooked for the post, and Coloccini is determined to make the most of the honour.
