Ex-Toon Striker Signs For Seasiders

Blackpool have signed former Newcastle and Portsmouth forward Lomana LuaLua until the end of the season.

Ian Holloway has signed the Congo international on a free transfer following his release from Cypriot club Omonia.

LuaLua was unattached, so he was able to sign him on a deal outside the transfer window.

The 30-year old had an up-and-down career at Newcastle during his stay between 2001/2004.

Known as "Super Sub", he made 67 substitute appearances.

A big money signing from Colchester United as a teenager, £2.25m, he was constantly refered to by SKY TV as taking 37 games to score his first goal, but add together all of those sub appearances and you'd be lucky to make 5 full games.

Lost patience trying to establish himself and went on loan to Portsmouth in 2004, insisting he wanted to sign for them.

Scored a late goal AGAINST Newcastle that cost the Toon a Champions League place, and had everyone asking "Why was he allowed to play against his own team?".

Signed for Portsmouth in the summer of 2004.

He will be available to make his debut against West Ham at Upton Park on Saturday.
