Erdinc Leaves Toon Hopes Dead In The Water

The move for Newcastle target Melvut Erdinc is now dead. The striker has decided to remain at PSG. Alan Pardew has been left frustrated - AGAIN - in his hopes to sign a top striker. It was understood that Newcastle had agreed a fee of around £6m for Erdinc, but the Turkey international is staying in France. Pardew had hoped the 24-year-old would change his mind. But he has said all summer he had no intention of coming to St James' Park, and many fans were concerned he would only come to Tyneside just for the money ... as was the case with Albert Luque Luque said on leaving Newcastle: "I didn't want to play for Newcastle in the first place, and I told them that. "But Freddie Shepherd said 'name you price' and I did. I didn't think he would pay it!" PSG statement read: "Paris Saint-Germain is pleased to announce that striker Mevlut Erding will continue the season playing for PSG. "Despite numerous requests from clubs wishing to engage the services of Mevlut, the club and the player decided to continue this adventure together. "The club wishes to express its appreciation to keep a player of the quality of Mevlut."
