Enrique To Link Up With Messi?

06 July 2011 18:52
Spanish newspapers claim Barcelona are showing interest in Toon defender Jose Enrique. The future of the 25-year-old has been shrouded in doubt with both Arsenal and Liverpool known to be chasing the player but now reports in Spain suggest Barca are keen. Reports in the Chronicle claim Enrique would no doubt "jump at the chance to return to his homeland with the European Champions and play alongside his hero Lionel Messi". Newcastle would also be happy to sell to Barca rather than to another Premiership side. The newspaper also insists Enrique will be on the move this summer: "Jose is not convinced that Newcastle have enough depth ahead of the new season. "At 25 he is keen to look elsewhere and has a burning desire to play in the Champions League next season."
