End Of The Road For Ireland's Toon Career?

Stephen Ireland was told by Alan Pardew he had to impress in the final games of the season to get a deal, but he has been ruled out of the final four games of the season with an ankle injury. He is on-loan from Aston Villa but he will be unavailable for the remainder of the campaign after picking up an injury at Blackpool. The 24-year-old has made two appearances for the Tynesiders since his January arrival from Villa Park, coming off the bench against both Manchester United and Blackpool. He has endured a nightmare two and a half months on Tyneside. He arrived at Newcastle with a knee injury and soon picked up a thigh strain ... then his partner Jessica Lawlor suffered multiple injuries in a car accident earlier this month.
