Do Past-It Arsenal Stars See Toon As A Meal Ticket?

Anyone old enough to see the Toon playing in the late 1980's will have witnessed England legend Kenny Sansom 'go through the motions' at St James' Park after Arsenal sent him to the knackers yard. MERRY XMAS FROM NEWCASTLEUTD-MAD And watching Sol Campbell produce just 339 mins in a Toon shirt since his summer signing ... many are seeing the same thing over again. The People says the Toon are ready to listen to offers for Campbell in the January transfer window as the defender struggles to come to terms with life on Tyneside. Apparently, he says he has "not come to terms with the sacking of Chris Hughton". But reports from inside St James' Park suggest Alan Pardew wants him out of the door in the January transfer window. A Newcastle source said “Sol is a professional through and through but he has taken the departure of Chris Hughton harder than the rest of the players. “Chris was one of the main reasons he came up to Newcastle and there was even talk about him joining the coaching staff.” But Campbell has failed to impress anyone at the club, admitting he didn't train over the summer months, and the sight of him looking like a beached whale at his first training session shocked many of the players. Excuses will be made for his exit - he will say he wants to move on (and Pardew will obviously back him on that) - but the fact is - he's well past his sell by date!
