Do Man Utd Hold 'Political Power'?

Over the years Sir Alex Ferguson has 'bent the rules' with the FA ... we know it and the whole world knows it (apart from Man Utd fans, of course).

For example ... when they lost 4-0 to Barcelona and they played Freddy Mercury's song 'Barcelona' before a match at Elland Road.

The entire Premiership was told they could not play that song when Man Utd fans came visiting.

It seems unbelievable, but I promise you it is true!

Would that happen to any other club?

Then there was Man Utd's trip to Brazil when they skipped playing in the FA Cup. The FA rules are there in black and white: "If a club decides NOT to play in the FA Cup, the following season they MUST start the competition in Round One."

Asked why they got away with it, the FA replied: "Well, it's Manchester United, isn't it."

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez believes the eight-game ban he received last season was down to Manchester United's "political power".  The 25-year-old Uruguay forward was handed the suspension and a £40,000 fine in December after being found guilty of racially abusing United defender Patrice Evra in a Premier League match.

Speaking on Uruguayan television show 'RR.Gol', Suarez said: "They were very tough days to me. I am not used to showing what I really feel, but the trial week was very difficult. I also cried alongside my wife.

"People at Liverpool are sure that it was a way that Manchester United used to put me out of the team and stop Liverpool. In England, Manchester United's political power is strong and you must respect that and shut your mouth."
