Did Newcastle Help Kick-Start Mourinho's Flops?

John Terry feels that Chelsea responded well to the defeat against Newcastle United as they beat Schalke 04 3-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Blues fell to a 2-0 defeat at St James' Park on Saturday, but Terry says they bounced back well against the Germans.

John Terry: "It was a good win and a good response after the weekend.

"I'm pleased to put the Newcastle defeat to bed. That was shocking!

"We were shaky in the first 10 minutes, but after that and the first goal we settled down and started to play.

"We wanted to respond and I thought we did that."

Chelsea's win came thanks to a brace from Samuel Eto'o and a strike from former Newcastle favourite Demba Ba.

That goal can only boost Ba's presence at Stamford Bridge, as he is tipped to leave the club in January, following interest from Swansea, West Ham and (surprise, surprise) Arsenal.
