Di Matteo wary of `wounded beast`

West Brom manager Roberto Di Matteo is fully aware of the threat Newcastle will pose this weekend despite the troubled club's difficulties off the pitch. The televised clash at The Hawthorns promises to be of the biggest encounters in this season's Championship calendar as two of the prime promotion favourites lock horns. Newcastle's problems of late have been well documented, though, with the club still up for sale, looking for a new manager and seemingly losing some of their top players. But Di Matteo told AlbionPlayer: "There is a saying `a wounded beast is a dangerous beast' so we've got to be careful. There's enough quality in their team and we have to put in a very good performance on Saturday. "They have got a lot of Premier League players obviously, proven ones as well, so you can't underestimate Newcastle but also you can't underestimate anybody else." He added: "We're probably not the favourites on Saturday and that's not going to happen too many times this season so it's an odd one but, as I say, it doesn't really matter as long as we win."
