Demba Ba Tells Wenger - Come And Get Me!

17 December 2012 12:07
It was rumour ... but not any more ... Demba Ba wants to leave Newcastle United.

Demba Ba has told Arsene Wenger to slap the money on the table and get him away from Newcastle.

Saturday's home 3-1 reverse to Manchester City has left the Magpies with just one win from their last 11 matches, the 3-0 win over Wigan at the start of December.

Ba has opened the door to a move away from Newcastle this January, by revealing he dreams about playing for Arsenal.

The Senegal international has been in fine form this season, bagging 11 Premier League goals for the struggling Magpies.

Now Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is understood to be ready to exploit Ba’s £7.5million release clause in the new year, and the former West Ham man has done little to dampen speculation that he could be Emirates-bound.

Demba Ba: "I have nothing to say about those speculations [with Arsenal]. Nothing has happened.

"The media know Arsenal need another striker and they know about my release clause. They need to make their own mind up about it.

"Arsenal are one of those teams who makes you dream."

Arsene Wenger is feeling the heat from Arsenal fans and is almost certain to add more firepower to his faltering side in January, with Schalke’s Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Atletico Madrid’s Adrian Lopez other targets.

Gunners legend Thierry Henry is also expected to re-join the club for a third time on loan.

Demba Ba: "We produce it and we are just going to keep on doing it because the day that turns around, we will be a good team again.

"We have put in some good performances in the last three or four weeks, but unfortunately, we just keep losing.

"We have to find the right balance between attacking and defending to stop conceding goals and start scoring even more.

"You just have to look in when you attack.

"You always have to keep in mind as a team that if you lose the ball, this is a team (Manchester City) that can counter very fast, and you have to find the right balance, and we didn't."
