On report today claims: "Galatasaray are reported to be close to securing a deal for Newcastle United striker Demba Ba.
"The Istanbul club have been closely linked with Ba over the past few weeks.
"According to latest reports from Turkey the Senegalese striker has travelled twice to Istanbul and met with Galatasaray officials over a possible move."
Sky Bet had previously released a statement: "We have suspended transfer betting on Demba Ba after lots of stakes & reports on him to join Galatasaray."
However, the rumours were officially denied by Newcastle.
Demba Ba is currently in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, with fellow Senegal International team-mates Moussa Sow and Issiar Dia.
Sow and Dia play for Turkish Super League outfit Fenerbahçe.
It seems strange they would try and get him to sign for bitter rivals Galatasaray.
